Child custody dispute between sex-worker mom and ex-husband

Families take all forms, shapes, and sizes. A family may break up under a variety of circumstances and the result may be a child custody dispute between the parents. In California, a woman is fighting for her children, though she is facing judgement against her job as much as judgement against her ability to be a good mother.

A woman in El Dorado County is facing a family legal battle for the custody of her children. Her ex-husband wants her to have limited and supervised visitation rights with their children. His main argument against her is her job; she is a sex worker at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada.

The woman is a licensed, legal sex worker in Nevada and has only ever done sex work there. She was arrested in July 2015 on prostitution charges when a Fresno police officer was allegedly using the Internet to pimp her out. However, the DA has not filed against her or the police officer. The woman is adamant that she has not done anything illegal; therefore, the only reason that her kids would be taken away from her is if the court does not approve of her legal sex job.

Couples may not always be able to work out their differences to stay together. There are numerous agreements that must be made when couples split, like who will get the children, when, and for what duration. A child custody dispute can be trying on the parents as well as the child or children involved, but an experienced California family lawyer can help fight for parents rights to be with his or her children.
