Can a prenuptial agreement make divorce easier?

It has been said that children make the holiday season better; primarily because of the marvel they have with all the lights, celebrations, and of course their priceless reactions on Christmas morning. But do children make divorces easier to bear? The question is a legitimate one, given that kids can provide the emotional lift that some parents need during such a difficult time, and the sense of family that is all-important.

While this question is certainly debatable, it appears that the impending divorce between Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert can use some child-like innocence. According to several media reports, Shelton and Lambert are in the midst of waging a public war, and neither side appears to be backing down. Both parties apparently are accusing the other of infidelity, which was one of the factors leading to their split.

Another rumor has Shelton demanding that Lambert immediately remove her livestock from his ranch in Oklahoma, since the prenuptial agreement the couple signed gave him the ranch they shared in that state, while Lambert would have the property the couple had in Nashville, Tennessee.

Indeed, prenuptial agreements tend to quell the animosity between parties when it comes to asset and debt division, but the Shelton/Lambert divorce story is an example that battles can still rage even though the terms of the split are already set in stone. Nevertheless, a prenuptial agreement has many benefits, even though you feel like love will always win the day in the future.

If you have questions about prenuptial agreements, an experienced family law attorney can help.
